Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations publishes State of Food and Agriculture 2022

On November 2, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) released the "State of Food and Agriculture 2022" report in Rome. 

One of FAO's flagship publications of the year, The State of Food and Agriculture 2022 explores how agricultural automation can advance the SDGs and

 offers several recommendations for policymakers on how to maximize benefits and reduce risks.

Agricultural automation covers a broad spectrum, ranging from tractors to artificial intelligence, and can play an important role in improving the efficiency

 of food production and enhancing environmental sustainability. However, uneven technology penetration may also exacerbate inequality. 

Inequality will be exacerbated, especially when small-scale producers and marginalized groups such as youth and women lack access to technology.
